KOTTAYAM:
The district-level inauguration of India Skills Kerala 2020, being organized by the Industrial Training Department (ITD) and Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE), both under the State Labour and Skills Department, was held at Government ITI, Ettumanoor, on January 15.
Lissy Tomy, President, Grama Panchayat, Athirampuzha, inaugurated the event. Jiji Joy, Member, Grama Panchayat, presided over the function. There was tremendous participation in all skill competitions.
Jose Varghese, Principal, ITI, Pallikkathodu; and Reji Paul, Principal, ITI, Ettumanoor, were also present. The Kottayam district-level competitions will be conducted in the Government ITIs at Ettumanoor, Pallikkathodu, and Kalamassery (Women’s ITI).
Of the 42 skill sector competitions, 11 of them will be held at Government ITI, Ettumanoor. The Government Women’s ITI, Kalamassery will host Fashion Technology competitions. The district-level competitions, being held in different centres across the state up to January 20, will be followed by Zonal events in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode between January 27 and 31. The grand State-level finale is scheduled from February 22 to 24, at Swapna Nagari, Kozhikode.
