Inauguration Of Assonora Sports Complex

The newly constructed Assonora Sports Complex was inaugurated today at the hands of  Laxmikant Parsekar,  Chief Minister, in the distinguished presence of Kiran Kandolkar, MLA, Tivim constituency and Chairman, Goa State Horticultural Corporation Ltd, , Sapna Mapari, Sarpanch, Village Panchayat, Assonora and all Panch members.
Under the visionary leadership of Pramod P. Sawant, GSIDC is helping lead the way in building quality infrastructure for the state of Goa. Currently, the coporation is in the process of building roads, bridges, hospitals, colleges, schools, libraries, stadiums, jetties, bus stands, cultural centres and market complexes and is involved in the holistic development of rural and urban spaces.
Adding to this list of works, GSIDC has undertaken the construction of the Assonora Sports Complex. The total area of the project is 13,854 sq. mts. The development of the structure was undertaken to encourage local sporting talent. The sports complex has a sprawling football ground developed with natural grass turf, a warm-up area around the field and a covered spectator stand that can seat approximately 550 people. The complex also has an administrative building with a bulit-up area of 709.56 M 2. The building houses VIP rooms, changing rooms, a conference hall, a gymnasium and a multipurpose hall amongst other

facilities. Provisions have also been made for one natural and one cement cricket pitch.
Gurudutt Sanzgiri is the consultant for the project and D.S.Kulkarni Developers Limited, Pune is the contractor. The cost of the work is approximately 7.32 crores.
