THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
In response to the direction of Railway Minister, On Board House Keeping Services (OBHS) has been programmed in 27 trains of Thiruvananthapuram Division of Southern Railway Accordingly the service in the prestigious Kerala Express 12625/12626 (TVC-NDLS-TVC, Kerala Express) was inaugurated by Prakash Butani, Divisional Railway Manager in presence of K.S.Jai
Features of OBHS
During the OBHS service on board toilets, doorways, gang ways, vestibules will be cleaned frequently from 5 am to 9 am and from 4 pm to 8 pm
In addition to the above work, the cleaning work will be done whenever desired /demanded for by the passengers.
This services will be provided for up and down journey from base depot to destination and back to base depot.
The work pertains to enroute cleaning for trains specially coach toilets.
The OBHS service is limited to only reserved class (AC & Non-AC ).
Coaches with environmental friendly Bio-toilets will be attended during the service. Any blockage in the Bio-toilet will be checked and removed.
Spraying disinfectant for sanitation of toilets after washing and drying of toilets will be done along with providing deodorants.
Liquid soaps and toilet tissues will be provided in the toilets of AC coaches
Spraying of room freshener and mosquito repellant will be carried out.
Checking of availability of water in the coaches every 3 hrs well before arrival of nominated watering stations.
Wiping of platform side window glass of all AC coaches.
Cleaning of coach floor area and collection of garbages in poly bags.
Clean my coach scheme
As per the scheme for any cleaning requirement in the coach, passengers sends SMS on a common mobile number 9003161455 for all trains in the format CLEAN 10 Digit PNR Number for eg. CLEAN 8421708090.
Performance of the OBHS staff is being monitored through feedback forms and scoring given by passengers as well as travelling ticket examiners etc.
