Day 1 of Round 4 of MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2019 saw IDEMITSU Honda Ten10 Racing team riders dominate both ProStock 165cc and ProStock 201-300cc class yet again.
IDEMITSU Honda Ten10 Racing team secured 4 more podiums in PS165cc & PS201-300cc categories. Setting the tempo from the start itself, Honda’s ARRC rider Rajiv Sethu lapped up his fifth consecutive victory in the Pro-Stock 165 class while team-mate Sarath Kumar doubled the joy with 3rd finish. The Pro-Stock 201-300cc class saw Anish Shetty clock his 4th victory of the season with a solid 5 second lead over Abhishek V.(2nd) and Mithun Kumar of Erula Racing (3rd).
Sharing an overview of Day 1 of racing, Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President – Brand and Communications, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “2019 is all about our riders getting stronger, faster and more strategic. Rajiv’s unbeatable run is showing his progress as a ride which is fuelled by his ARRC experience. Our boys are now dominating both PS165cc and PS201-300cc classes and we are on plan to cement our brand leadership in national championship even further. Parallely, the IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup is now developing to be the biggest platform for creating future icons. Yesterday, Mikail broke the fastest lap time record at Chennai track and today we saw 3 more young riders make their racing debut on CBR 150R. Tomorrow too, the team is confident to extend its gain with goal to stake its claim in the national championships.”

Pro-Stock 165cc: Race 1 saw IDEMITSU Honda Ten10 Racing Team grab yet another double podium finish. Starting first, Rajiv dropped to 3rd in lap 1 but made recovery early in lap 2 itself and maintained his pace in the remaining 4 rounds. With a solid 1.288 seconds lead, Honda’s expert rider Rajiv Sethu sealed his 5th consecutive win with total lap time of 11:58:132 while Sarath Kumar finished 3rd with total lap time of 12:03:811.
PS201-300: IDEMITSU Honda Ten10 Racing Team’s top-notch rider Anish Shetty continues to extend his championship lead with his 4th victory in the PS201-300cc, stopping the clock at 12:09:576. He was followed back home by IDEMITSU Honda Ten10 Racing team-mate Abhishek V (2nd) 12:15:051 and Honda Erula Atomic Racing Team’s Mithun Kumar who by finishing third has marked his first podium finish of the season.
19 young guns lead the charge at IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup
NSF250R: After creating history yesterday by breaking previous fastest ever lap time record of 1:47:887 on a 250cc, the 15 year old Chennai boy Mikail yet again notched up double victory in race 1 and race 2 of NSF cup. While Mikail lead by 10 second gap in first race, joining him on podium were Geoffrey (2nd) and 12 year old Pune boy Sarthak (3rd). The afternoon’s second race saw Mikail repeat performance as the first to cross the chequered line yet again with Varoon (2nd) and Gadag boy Kritik (3rd) completing the podium.
CBR150R Race 1:
With 3 new riders joining CBR150R Talent Cup for the first time, the grid now stood at 12th. Today’s race saw the battle for victory stretch up to the finishing line with Mizoram boy Lal Nunsanga finally stopping the clock at 13:14:704 followed Bengaluru boy Samuel Martin who’s total lap time at 13:14:798 was just 0.094 seconds behind Lal Nunsanga. Completing the podium was 18 year old Trichy boy S. Rajdaswanth who celebrated his first podium.
