Strengthening its feet in its new direction to develop ‘Iconic Indian Riders’for National & International Championships, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. today moved to Chennai for Round 2 of the ‘IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt’,to identify, select and mentor young talented riders to compete in national and international racing championships.
The IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt, kicked off from Bengaluru last month will furthertravel to other cities namely-Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Aizwal (Mizoram), Delhi NCR, Bhopal, Vadodara, Pune and Coimbatore. The jury in the Chennai round consisted of eminent members; Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President- Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, Koji Takahashi, Deputy Director- Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, and Ramji Govindrajan, Director- Ten10 Racing.
The Honda Talent Hunt provides the platform to aspiring racers to showcase their potential and nurture their skills in the beginning of their career. Starting from the first round inBengaluru last month, the event saw exceptional talent amongst these budding racers.
Speaking on the occasion, Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President – Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “With a dream to represent India in the world Grand Prix Racing, this platform is the beginning of a clear development path and structured approach to nurture riders from a young age.17-year old Senthil Kumar, who has been the find from last year’s Honda One Make is participating in Thai Talent Cup and is performing strongly. With this round in Chennai, it is encouraging to see the support from parents who are ready to commit towards developing a balance between motorsports and academics. We want more riders to represent Indian motorsports to the world.”
IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt- Chennai
The Round 2 of the Talent Cup conducted in Chennai received a total of 16 registrations. The top shortlisted candidates will be trained at the Honda 10Ten Racing Academy on 30 th July further to which they will get an opportunity to compete in the IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup 2018 (Round-3) -CBR 150R Novice category at Madras Motorsports Race Track in Chennai. We have even received registrations from children younger than 13 who would also be further trained at the academy.
Honda started conducting ‘HONDA ONE MAKE RACE’ in the year 2008. IDEMITSU Honda India Talent is a part of Honda 2Wheelers India’s vision to develop promote motorsports in India. The races give a unique opportunity for enthusiasts to gain track experience with support from Honda 2Wheelers India.
