IBS Software to Provide Employment Opportunities in Driving for Women

KOCHI:

IBS Software has launched its new CSR initiative – Futurepoint Cabs – which seeks to facilitate and generate job opportunities for women in the professional driving sector.  

This is part of its larger commitment to empowering women by providing a means to livelihoods and financial independence besides significantly contributing to their skills, professionalism and confidence. Under this not-for-profit programme, the company provides free training in driving as well

as in soft skills, etiquette, emotional resilience, basic vehicle maintenance, navigation technology and self-defence.

All participants who have completed the training and possess a valid license are eligible to be onboarded as drivers of ‘Futurepoint Cabs’. The cars are purchased and owned by IBS Software and allotted to the certified drivers. So far two batches have completed the course, imparting training to 34 women out of which 13 have been certified.  

Currently, the operation is restricted to the city of Cochin for the transport requirements of the employees of IBS Software. The company seeks to expand to thirty drivers by December 2025 and to make the service available to all corporates in Cochin subsequently.  The next training session is scheduled to start by mid-September.
