KOTTAYAM:
IT solutions major IBS Software has donated 50 television sets to under privileged students of government high schools in Ettumanoor in the district to support their online studies during COVID-19 season, as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
The TV sets were distributed to the students at a function at Ettumanoor on Thursday. Sani AS, Manager, IBS Global Human Resource, handed over the TV sets to Shyla V R, the Deputy Director of Education, Government of Kerala, in the presence of Suresh Kurup MLA. Speaking on the occasion, Kurup said that this was an important milestone for Ettumanoor to emerge as an assembly constituency in the state with 100 per cent facility for online classes.
“The beneficiary students were unable to attend classes as they were not in possession of TV sets. I am delighted that corporate firms of repute are stepping forward to support the needy students in such difficult times. I wish to thank the authorities of IBS Software for this wonderful gesture” added Kurup.
With schools across the state remaining closed due to COVID-19, Kerala Government has launched online classes to ensure that education of children is not affected due to restrictions caused by the pandemic.
