This weekend, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. unleashes the biggest paradigm shift in history of Indian motorsports.
Round 2 of MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2019 will see 2 firsts from Honda. Taking Indian motorsport to global standards, Honda is now the FIRST two-wheeler manufacturer in India to introduce its legacy moto3 machine NSF250R in Indian domestic racing. Parallely, Honda also enters the ProStock 201-300cc category of national championship, with aim to expand its brand leadership in national championship even further.
Driving Honda’s pitch of structural development and brand leadership further are 19 young riders participating in IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup (NSF250R & CBR150R classes) and 13 riders in the 2 classes of National Championship (ProStock 201-300cc & ProStock 165cc).

Developing iconic rider from India with IDEMITSU Honda Talent Cup (NSF250R & CBR 150R class)
Starting Round 2, Honda brings out the big guns and for the first time ever, Indian two-wheeler racing will match global standards. The structured development platform of IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup now gets more muscle with the Moto3 machine NSF 250R in addition to CBR 150R.
IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup–NSF250R class will fast-track development of 8 future stars of racing and propel them to international stage from an early age. The riders include Thailand Talent Cup riders Mohammad Mikail and Kritik Habib in addition to 12 year Sarthak from Pune and Varoon, Charan T, Geoffrey, Kavin from Chennai and Mohsin from Mallapuram. Committed to structured development of young riders, Honda has rigorously trained these young guns on their physical fitness, mental strength and their race-craft.
Further, 11 of 2018 IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt finds from Aizawl, Chennai, Trichy, Bengaluru, Vizag &Pune will complete IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup–CBR150R class grid including Race 1 podium earners Lal Nunsunga, Lalrinuala Tlau from Aizawl.
Entry in ProStock 201-300cc class & aim to extend Brand Leadership in national championship
Eyeing leadership in national championship Honda is fielding 13 riders from 4 teams in 2 classes. Taking on a new challenge, Honda is entering ProStock 201-300cc class with 8 expert riders. Representing IDEMITSU Honda Racing India are 2018 ProStock 165cc champion Anish Shetty, Abhishek V. and B. Aravind. Joining them are the rider trio from Erula Racing (Mathana Kumar, Mithun Kumar, Amala Jerald), ProLap Racing (Prabhu V.) and ENEOS Chandra Honda Racing team – first ever team from Honda Exclusive Authorized Dealer represented by rider Akshay Murali.
Further strengthening Honda’s triple crown victory in ProStock 165cc class for 5th consecutive year will be IDEMITSU Honda Racing India’s expert riders of Sarath Kumar (leading after round 1), Rajiv Sethu, Yashas R.L, and K. Kannan. Joining them for the bid to glory will be ProLap racing’s K.B. Rajkamal.
