Harrisons Malayalam Limited (HML) estates have bagged eight awards at CII (Confederation Of Indian Industry) – Southern Region for Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) practices. The Tea factories in Wentworth, Lockhart, Moongalaar, Wallardie, Pattumallay and Rubber factories in Kumbazha, Mooply and Nagamallay receives Environment, Health and Safety Awards for the year 2018.
The CII-SR EHS Excellence Awards is an initiative designed to provide a bench marking tool to compare best practices in Environment, Health and Safety across South India and assist in continual process of improvement. Earlier this year, HML has also received Pollution Control award for Kumbazha Centrifuge Latex factory, Ethical Tea Partnership certifications, recognised by EU markets, Rain Forest Alliance certification and Trustea certification for Lockhart, Pattumallay, Wentworth, Wallardie and Moongalar estates.
HML Wholetime Director and Chief Executive Venkitraman Anand said that, ‘HML has always ensured best working practices for a safe and productive environment and being EHS certified is a further reassurance of our commitment to environment, workplace safety and product quality.’ Sustainability has been an integral part of farm management practices in HML plantations and it is for the fifth consecutive year HML estates are recognized by CII with EHS Awards.
