Kripesh’s lifelong dream for a stable house has been fulfilled. The brutal murder of Kripesh and Sharathlal had rocked Kerala two months ago. It’s been exactly 2 months and 2 days since their demise. People from all over Kerala arrived at Kalyottu to take part in the house warming ceremony.
The life of Kripesh’s family was in a standstill after his demise. Kripesh had discontinued his studies due to financial constrain and joined his father for painting jobs. It was mentioned in the messages sent to his friend a while before his unfortunate death about his wish to build a stable house for his family. He also was one among who wished to form a Football team and his dream team Rajeevji Arts and Sports Club had kissed victory in the football tournament organized in remembrance of Kripesh and Sharathlal.
Kripesh and Sharathlal had received threats on social media due to their political background. It was suggested to them to stay away from the region by both family and friends until things got better, but unfortunately the gruesome killing took place beforehand.
Equally shocking was the condition of Kripesh’s one room thatched house which were carried by newspapers the next day. The house was shared with his parents and two sisters. Hibi Eden MLA had announced via facebook that a stable house will be constructed for his family under the Thannal Housing Project. Kripesh’s House is the 30th house constructed under the project.
On Hibi Eden’s birthday April 19th, Friday he visited hometown of Kripesh and Sharathlal and took part in the house warming ceremony of Kripesh’s house along with his wife Anna Eden and daughter Clara. V D Satheeshan MLA also joined Hibi. He visited Sharathlal’s house before heading to Kripesh’s. The newly built house was named ‘Kichoos’ after Kripesh.
The 1100 sq ft house has three bedrooms with two attached bathroom and one common, living area, kitchen and a front porch. The house which was aimed to finish in 50 days was completed within 46 days. The home appliances have been provided to the family by All India Professional Congress. One of Kripesh’s very close friend Pradeep said that, Kalyottu residents will be forever thankful to Hibi for fulfilling Kichu’s dream.
