‘SOE Uncut’ is an initiative by the third year students of the School of Engineering, Cochin University of Science and Technology to bring back campus feel to those who are at home due to lockdown.
The purpose of SOE Uncut is to unite students who are pursuing their studies through online classes, away from campus and friends. Many students who stay alone at home experience a lot of stress. The students said the new venture was also a relief for them. SOE Uncut was launched on August 14 through various social media platforms.
The project which initially started with 15 people, has a large team of radio jockeys and media workers at present. The first episode of Farewell to Senior Students, who did not get a proper farewell to its four – year long college days, will be released on August 29th. Uncut’s primary goal is to revive students’ campus memories through interesting discussions and artwork. In addition, charity, covid prevention campaign and blood and organ donation initiatives will be linked to it. According to students, this is the first such event at the university level in Kerala.
