THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Health Minister K K Shailaja Teacher will inaugurate the HLL’s Hindlabs Diagnostics Centre & Specialty Clinic, located in the TRIDA Sopanam complex, outside the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College tomorrow on Wednesday (Sept 7).
The Health Minister will also inaugurate the newly set up Vaccine unit at the centre. The Minister will also distribute free health check-up cards enabling them to avail all basic blood tests free of costs, to auto and taxi drivers plying at Medical college area in Thiruvananthapuram.
HLL Lifecare Ltd (HLL), a Government of India enterprise, aims to bring high quality healthcare at low costs through the Hindlabs venture. In order to make accessible the service and to reach masses, Hindlabs plans to open around 20 satellite blood collection centres in and around Thiruvananthapuram in three months.
As part of the programme, Electricity and Devasom Minister Kadakampally Surendran will inaugurate the Specialty OP Clinics and make the presidential address at the function. Shashi Tharoor, the MP from Thiruvananthapuram, will open the Tele Radiology Hub. MLA K Muraleedharan will inaugurate the Hindlabs Pharmacy and local Councillor in Pattom Remya Ramesh S R will open the Satellite Blood Collection Centre.
HLL Chairman and Managing Director R P Khandelwal will deliver an introductory note on the Hindlabs programme, which provides diagnostic services at hugely discounted rates for the benefit of poor and needy patients. Also present will be HLL Director (Marketing) Dr Babu Thomas and (Technical & Operations) Director E A Sbramanian.
Ideally located opposite the Medical College premises, the facility brings top doctors under one roof for its super specialty OPD services, which include General Medicine, Diabetology, ENT, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Ophthalmology, Pulmonology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Paediatrics and Orthopaedic clinics, which operate in two shifts from 9 am to 1 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm.
The vaccination center at Hindlabs will make available vaccines for pediatric immunisation, as per the government’s Universal Immunisation Programme and the India Paediatric Association’s recommendations for the private sector.
The adult vaccination centre will have Pentavalent vaccine (DPT-Hepatitis B-Hib), Hepatitis B vaccine (paediatric and adult), Tetanus Toxoid vaccine and Rabies vaccine in the initial phase, followed by other vaccines recommended by the Indian Pediatric Association. The vaccination unit is under the supervision of a registered paediatrician and supported by experienced nursing staff.
