

ALAPPUZHA:
The state government has given administrative clearance to the Rs 2 crore pilgrim tourism circuit project linking St. Thomas Church, Thumpoly and Our Lady of Assumption Church, Poomkavu in the district.
The project is meant for improving basic infrastructure and other facilities at the two churches.
Minster for Tourism and Public Works, P A Mohamed Riyas said the project will strengthen the pilgrim tourism, an important segment of tourism in the state.
The ‘St. Thomas Church, in Thumpoly—Poomkavu Church Prilgrim Tourism’ initiative is part of the ‘Pilgrim Tourism’ project of the Department of Tourism to preserve age-old places of worship in the state.
