Recognising that business and sustainability go hand-in-hand, Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd., the flagship company of the Godrej Group, is making an ambitious commitment today to smarter energy use as part of the global EP100 initiative.
EP100 is led by the Climate Group, an international non-profit organisation, in partnership with the Alliance to Save Energy. It brings together over a hundred companies with operations around the world, committed to doing more with less energy. Godrej & Boyce pledges to double its energy productivity and implement an energy management system (EnMS) by 2030 (FY-17 baseline).
The company has made continuous efforts to lower its energy use through various efficiency measures across its manufacturing plants, such as adopting energy efficient technologies, and replacing inefficient processes. Godrej & Boyce is also aiming at reducing the carbon intensity of its operations by 60% by the
year 2030.
The company will pursue low carbon pathways across its businesses by adopting following steps:
Implementing an energy management system (EnMS) across the organisation by 2030
Implementing energy conservation measures & efficiency programmes
Increasing the share of renewable energy
Adopting technologies that are energy efficient
