THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
As part of World Diabetic Day observation, HLL Life Care Limited’s Hindlabs Specialty Clinic will organise a free diabetes camp at its clinic near Thiruvananthapuram Govt. Medical College on November 14, Monday.
The camp will be open to public from 8 am to 12.30 pm and will offer consultation by Dr Dinesh Prabhu and Dr Ramakrishnan. It will be open only to the first 100 participants. People can register for the camp by contacting at 9400027969 or 0471-2443445.
There will be free sugar check-up, cholesterol test, and diabetic neuropathy test and ECG if required.
“Diabetes is a serious condition that can be con+trolled with proper treatment and care,” said HLL Chairman and Managing Director R P Khandelwal. People with untreated and uncontrolled diabetes have a higher risk of strokes, high blood pressure, heart attack, kidney failure, loss of sensation in the limbs and other nerve damage. Diabetes can also and become a common cause of leg amputation if a diabetic patient has met with an accident,” HLL CMD added.
“The most important in diabetes is having knowledge about diabetes and believing that it can be controlled,” said Khandelwal.
Obese people, people above the age group of 40 and women who have had multiple pregnancies, people having refined food, people with multiple activities, stress, and intake of over nutrition are at higher risk of having this disease. Hindlabs will also conduct a diabetic management awarenes
