New Delhi: The External Affairs ministry on Friday suspended business tycoon Vijay Mallya’s passport.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had asked the Regional Passport Office (RPO) in Delhi to revoke Mallya’s passport as he had failed to appear before the probe agency despite repeated summons.
Mallya left India on March 2 as banks approached courts to recover the huge loan amount owed by his Kingfisher Airlines company, now-defunct
Mallya, a sitting Rajya Sabha MP, owes more than Rs 9,200 crores to a consortium of banks in India.
