

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Branding strategies for impactful food technologies is the theme for the ‘Branding Challenge 2.0’ contest planned by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) as part of the ensuing Huddle Global 2024 to be held at Kovalam here from November 28 to 30.
The countdown for the contest has begun with KSUM inviting applications from artists, graphic designers, students and freelancers to vie for honours.
The participants will be tasked to come up with brand name, logo, package, design, product mockup and other branding insights for 10 impactful food technologies developed by leading food research institutes of the country.
November 10 is the deadline for submitting applications to participate in the challenge, to be held on the sidelines of India’s flagship startup event at Hotel Leela Raviz Kovalam, where an entire spectrum of stakeholders drawn for around the world including innovators, mentors and investors will be converging.
Now into its 6th edition, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will open the three-day event, bringing alive the eventful journey of Kerala’s startup ecosystem and the way ahead in a closely-knitted world defined by new technologies.
Besides offering a major platform for the participants to showcase their talent and innovation, the Branding Challenge 2.0 of KSUM will help research institutions gain branding insights for their food technologies facilitating technology transfers on a grand scale, KSUM CEO Anoop Ambika said.
Food technologies developed by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) – Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi; ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering (CIAE), Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh; ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (CCARI), Goa; ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Bareilly, UP; ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal, Haryana; ICAR-National Research Centre for Grapes (NRCG), Pune; CSIR – National Institute For Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram; ICAR – Central Tuber Crops Research Institute, Thiruvananthapuram; and ICAR – Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Kochi, will be lined up for the event.
An expert panel will evaluate the designs of the participants. Top designers will get Rs.10,000 as prize money as well as the prestigious ‘Huddle Global 2024 Designers Award’.
