KOCHI/KOLENCHERY:
Synthite proposes new corporate model for activities pertaining to defence against COVID 19. As a part of the initiative, Synthite Industries has commenced a 6 months COVID19 prevention program in Aikaranad Panchayat where the Company is located. The initiatives will be implemented by CVJ Foundation, the CSR wing of Synthite Industries in collaboration with Aikaranad Panchayat.
In the first phase, sanitation kits which includes sanitisers, masks, gloves etc and kits with various curry powders will be distributed to approx 5000 families in the panchayat. 1000 kits for distribution in three wards has already been handed over to the Panchayat President, KK Raju by Dr. Viju Jacob, Managing Director of Synthite Industries. Ward members, Kurian Kuzhivelli and MA Paulose also participated in the occasion while adhering to the social distancing guidelines recommended by the Government. Actions to distribute kits including food to over 700 indigent families in the locality have also been initiated. These kits will be distributed to the households by Synthite employees and volunteers enrolled with the Panchayat.
Synthite is planning to implement the activities in phases for a time period of six months. It will also be delivering basic safety measures like masks and gloves, free of cost to all shops in the Panchayat. Fumigation will be carried out in government hospitals, bus stands and markets at regular intervals for at least six months. Pedal pipes will be placed in public places of the panchayat. Apart from these, awareness programmes on how to effectively implement COVID prevention will also be conducted. Earlier, a donation of Rs. 1 crore was made by Synthite to Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund, following CM’s appeal to contribute.
Synthite aims to pave the way for the business community by carrying out all possible activities to tackle COVID 19 in Aikaranad Panchayat, says Dr. Viju Jacob, Managing Director of Synthite Industries. He added, it is the responsibility of each and every citizen to take care of the community in this time of crisis. The best approach would be to help our own community and ensure proper hygiene and prevention measures. If companies in Kerala follow Synthite model, we can help government to a great extent by undertaking preventive measures in more than 100 villages across the state.
