  • Fifty Ideas to Get Funded on Idea Day Event in December

    THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
    Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) will select 50 innovative, socially-relevant and scalable ideas from different sectors for funding next month as part of its financial aid project, Idea Day, to be held on December 23 in Kochi.
    Starting up is now more easy with Kerala government being successfully implementing the IDEA DAY to promote innovation in the state. Being rolled over 1 crore funds Kerala Startup Mission comes up with the Next Big Idea Day with funding 50 innovative, socially relevant and scalable idea from different sectors.
    Students, startups and innovators, who are working on their ideas or trying to productize their concept or scale up their existing products, can apply. Applications from outside Kerala will also be considered.
    Persons having their own primary model and idea of a product and startups registered in Kerala or incubators can apply for innovation grant through Idea Day. A grant of up to Rs 12 lakh will be provided for a product that has potential for global marketing and development.
    The Idea Day has so far released grants to more than 25 startups, students and individuals. The 25 idea grants were selected from the 700 applications received.
    Those who are working on their startups with their product having strong solutions in different sectors, including hardware, IoT, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), Platforms and Aggregators, Blockchain, AR/VR and Artificial Intelligence (AI), may also apply for the Idea Day.
    Commenting on the Idea Day, Vimal, G, CEO, Genrobotics, who got support when he was a student at the IEDC MES Kuttippuram, said: “The Idea Day has really helped us to take our project to the next level. It was by the help of the State government, we could complete the Robotics project and pitch to Taipe University, Taiwan.”
    Aathira, a student of Vidya Academy, said, “The Idea Day is a unique platform for innovators to present their ideas, which get good exposure, guidance and financial support. The KSUM is able to understand our passion on entrepreneurship better than anyone else.”
