Following false campaign that attack on migrant labourers are increasing, several Bengali workers started leaving the State.
Reports says that large crowd of migrant labourers are leaving from Kozhikode, Ernakulam and AKollam districts. There are also instances that the labourers are distributing notices to houses where these workers are staying.
Severe scarcity of workers are reported from various parts of the State leaving shopkeepers and hotels to down their shutters. The false campaign is being spread through social media like Whatsapp.
DGP Loknath Behra said that strict action will be taken against those who are spreading the false campaign. Violent scenes of migrant labourers being attacked are spread through the social media.
Police started a probe against the false campaign against Kerala. Loknath Behra said that there are no incidents of violence being reported in Kerala and all migrant labourers are safe here.
It was also pointed out that the false campaign was was emanated from West Bengal. Police started investigation to find out the source of the false campaign with the help of cyber cell.
‘Kerala is absolutely safe and the people here do not discriminate against any languages or State. The police would conduct awareness campaigns for the migrant labourers against this false campaign’, Behra said.
