KOCHI:
Ernakulam District Table Tennis Association (EDTTA) under the auspices of Kerala Table Tennis Association will be conducting the EVM Nissan 47th lnter District & 56th Kerala State Table Tennis Championships 2017 at the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi lndoor Stadium of Regional Sports Centre, Kadavanthra, Kochi from 256 to 29th November 2017.
Around 450 players from all the 14 Districts of the State are expected to participate in the above Championships. The matches will be held for Inter District Team Championship for all categories from Cadet to Seniors for both boys and girls. The open events is scheduled for Mini Cadet, Cadet ,Sub Junior, Junior, Youth, Women and Men Categories, Leading players like Maria Ronn Seraha Jacob will be participating in the Womens event.
ln the Mens category Senthil Kumar, Anas Irshad and Sunder S will be aiming for honours. The championship will be held on twelve tables at the Indoor Stadium of Regional Sports Centre, Kadavantra. The State Champion last year was Anas Irshad in Men’s Singles and Maria Ronnie In Women’s Singles.
The Championship will be formally inaugurated on Saturday 25th November 2017 at 04.00 PM by Prasad K. Panicker, Executive Director, BPCI Kochi Refinery. The lnter District event is scheduled for the first three days and the finals of the Inter district will be held on Monday 27th November at 4 pm. The open events will be conducted from the forenoon on Monday 27th November 2017. The finals of the open events is scheduled on Wednesday 29th November 2O17, again at 4 pm.Entry is free for all.
