The Embassy of Luxembourg in New Delhi is pleased to announce the appointment of Seturaman Mahalingam as the new Honorary Consul of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Chennai, with consular jurisdiction over the States of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Mahalingam replaces the previous Honorary Consul Suhasini Maniratnam whose mandate terminated after 5 years.
On 29 April, Duke of Luxembourg signed the Commission of appointment following the recommendation of the Government and the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind signed the Exequatur confirming the new Honorary Consul’s appointment on 31 July 2020. The Consulate is based at No. 22 Karpagambal Nagar, Mylapore in Chennai 600004 and can be joined by phone 44 2498 7145 and 44 2498 7745.
Mahalingam retired as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). He is currently on the Board of a number of companies and is associated with social causes as well. The new Honorary Consul of Luxembourg is an Industry leader and his experience and capability will further deepen the relations with the Government and Industry. In the context of his nomination, Seturaman Mahalingam said: “I feel privileged to be the Honorary Consul of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Its industrial ethos and the opportunities it provides on multiple spheres should be of value to the industry in this region.”
