KOCHI:
The Central GST and Customs Flying Squad has started operations to detect election irregularities and violation of code of conduct. Principal Commissioner K.R. Uday Bhaskar flagged off the operations of flying squad at a function held at the Central GST and Customs Kochi Commissionerate. Additional Commissioner T.P Anwar Ali, Assistant Commissioner S. Suresh, Central GST and Customs Superintendents Belinda Rebello, S.A. Madhu also participated.
Flying Squad surveillance has been intensified across the state to detect money, gifts, alcohol and smuggling of prohibited and restricted items to influence voters. The department has also published a telephone number and e-mail address for the public to inform the Central Control Room in case of any irregularities affecting the election. The public can contact 0484-2394105 or: cex15prev.ker@nic.in or any of the nearest GST and Customs offices if they notice any move affecting the election or violation of code of conduct.
