New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has asked the Regional Passport Office (RPO) in Delhi to revoke business tycoon Vijay Mallya’s passport. The action follows Vijay Mallya’s failure to appear before the probe agency despite repeated summons.
The agency is trying to pressure Mallya into returning to India for questioning him in a case of money laundering.
Vijay Mallya is being prosecuted for defaulting on loans worth over Rs 9,000 crore taken from a consortium of banks for his Kingfisher Airlines.
