Eastern Honours Eminent Women

The Kochi-based Eastern Condiments has instituted an award to recognise ordinary women who have excelled in their life, and who have been an inspiration to many.
On the occasion of the Women’s Day the Eastern Group honoured 13 women under the ‘Eastern Bhoomika Iconic Women of Your Life’ initiative, at a function held at Taj Gateway, Kochi on March 8.This is the 4th year of this prestigious event and been conducted across 7 cities namely Kochi, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Agra & Hyderabad on the same day.
Shalini Warrier, COO, Federal bank gave away the mementoes to the winners. Navas Meeran, Chairman gave away the citation to the winners. Sherin Navas of Eastern Group conveyed Vote of thanks.
The ‘Eastern Bhoomika Iconic Women of Your Life’ endeavour recognised the contribution made by 13 women today. As part of the selection procedure the people were asked to nominate women who influenced them in their lives. The woman could be their wife, daughter, mother, boss, teacher or colleague. They were asked to give a 60 word description of the woman along with a photograph. The nominations were through Social Media and by Post. The 13 candidates selected from this list were honoured by Eastern today.
They are: Sathi Devi, Latheesha Ansari, Shyni Rajkumar, Geetha Vazhachal, Priya Sumesh, Renuka Sasikumar, Zara Sheikha, Selina Michael, Uma Preman, Dr.M.S Sunil, V.K suhra, Jilumol Marriet, Gracy Thomas. Many of these women have contributed to society by overcoming the challenges they encountered in their life.
Out of the total employees of Eastern Condiments, 60 per cent are women. It is a brand that understands women. Nafeesa Meeran, Director, Eastern Group, is leading the campaign.
