District Conference of Toastmasters International Held at Kochi

KOCHI:
The Annual Conference of District 92 of Toastmasters International, “Coronation 2018”, was held from 25th to 27th May, 2017 at Hotel Holiday Inn, Kochi.
Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. The Conference which was steered by Nirmala Lilly, the Conference Chair, was attended by over 400 Toastmasters delegates from over 240 clubs in the states of Kerala and Karnataka.
The Conference was inaugurated on 26 th May, Saturday by A. P. M. Mohammed Hanish – MD of Kochi Metro Rail Ltd. Other prominent personalities who addressed the gathering included Mohammed Qahtani – the 2015 World Champion of Public Speaking, Shalini Warrier – Chief Operating Officer of Federal Bank, Prof. Saji Gopinath – CEO of Kerala Startup Mission and Former Dean of IIM (K), Dr. Ushy Mohandas – the renowned motivational speaker, Mr. Derek Wong – Region 13 International Director of Toastmasters International, S. R. Nair – Director of Mentor Guru, James Joseph, Founder of Jackfruit365 and Abhilash Nair, Associate Prof. at IIM (Kozhikode).
Nagarajan A. was elected as the District Director, Rajkumar Bansal as the Program Quality Director and Bhoopathy Shankar as the Club Growth Director for the term 2018-19. In the International Speech Contest, Deepak Justin was the winner, the first and second runner ups were Saveen Hegde and Rahul Sreekumar. In the TableTopics Contest, the winner was Nishanth P. K., the first and second runner ups were Mathew Varghese and Neil Gonsalves.
Toastmasters International has more than 4 lakh members in approximately over 16000 clubs in 142 countries. Since its founding in October 1924 by Ralph C.
