Peter Joseph Njalian is the World Champion in Weightlifting. Peter Joseph won fifty five years plus category gold medal in Weight lifting Championships Held at Santiago in USA. He has become first Keralite to lift World Champion ship in weightlifting. Peter Joseph, fifty eight year old hails from Kottamam, Angamaly. Peter won silver medal in the last year Asia pacific competition. In that competition 64 countries were participates in Malaysia.
Peter Joseph , Who has lose first position due to his injury this year in Australian Common wealth as compensated through this world champion ship victory. At the age of 22, he won gold medal in weightlifting and become National Champion and later he joined Indian Railways. Peter Joseph as concentrated more on body building and won twice world third position, he has also won Mr. Kerala, Mr. Railway and Mr. India many times.
He has become Mr. India at the age of fifty competing against young talents at Jaipur. He came back Weight lifting Field after thirty years and won world championship for the country at the age of fifty eight. Peter Joseph is so happy achievement for the country
