Perumbavoor M L A Eldose Kunnappilly inaugurated a special project for the welfare of the Dimentia affected
people of Koovapady Block Panchayat under the ‘Udbodh’ project, an initiative of the Center for Neuroscience of
CUSAT in association with the Ernakulam District Pachayath.
Block Panchayat President Bindu Gopalakrishnan presided over the function. ‘Udbodh’ aims to create a dementia friendly society. The main objective of ‘Udbodh’ is to bring together the different levels of service providers and train them to improve the quality of life of dementia affected people and to address the prevailing ignorance in the society.
Project Director Dr Baby Chakrapani trained health workers who were present at the training with a mobile app to diagnose Alzheimer’s disease . In tune with the guidelines of the Udbodh scheme, the Koovappadi Block Panchayat will help the Alzheimer’s affected people, and develop and implement programs to improve their quality of life.
