KOCHI:
Library Technology Conclave (LTC 2019) will be held at CUSAT from 23rd to 25th with the theme ‘From E-Books to E- Learning Libraries as Learning Hubs’.
This is the 4th edition of the conclave which started in 2016. The conclave aims at bridging the gap between the infinite universe of knowledge and information seekers including students, teachers and researchers, using novel technologies. This conclave is of relevance at a time when the learning process is being customized in tune with the capability and style of individual learner.
There will be discussion in the area of producing new learning models by teachers incorporating latest research outputs. There will be presentation on the newer trends in KOHA integrated open source library management software. Chris Cormack and Dr. Marshall Breeding who lead the development of open source software will participate. Libraries in Kerala started using KOHA in a big way due to the support of state government towards open source software. Cochin University library is using KOHA for its day-today operation since 2010. CUSAT Vice Chancellor Dr. R. Sasidharan, CEO of Bengaluru based Informatics Sanjay Grover and Deputy Librarian Dr. Veerankutty participated in the press conference held at CUSAT in this regard.
