PANAJI:
The leading cruise culinary training academy, American College of Culinary & Language Arts (ACCLA) have taken its cruise culinary training programmes online.
ACCLA is presently offering the Integrated Cruise Culinary Program (ICCP) and the Cruise Culinary Transition Programme (CCTP)
The Integrated Cruise Culinary Program (ICCP) is a 3-months intensive course followed by 6 months of Industrial Training. The program trains and prepares the student to take on the role of an Assistant Cook position on a luxury cruise liner or a position in a luxury five- star hotel or restaurant. Eligibility for admission to the program is 10 th standard and above and knowledge of basic English language skills.
The Cruise Culinary Transition Programme (CCTP) is especially designed for assistant cooks with experience who would like to upgrade their career from hotel kitchen chefs to being chefs at a cruise galley. Chefs with experience of less than 2 years are eligible to apply. On completion of the course the candidate will be eligible for placements by the institute.
Said, Parixit Pai Fondekar, Director, ACCLA on the recruitment trends ahead, “During this slowdown brought on by the global lockdown it is imperative that candidates update their skill sets and prepare for the future. Those who do so will have an edge over the other candidates.”
Unlike other institutes, ACCLA trains students for a specific job profile, as opposed to an all-round course offering the basics. This ensures that the student walks out of the institute ready to be employed in the position they have been trained for. Culinary practical sessions will commence once restrictions are eased.
