Coir Board, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India extended its contributions to the flood victims in Kerala, in a function arranged at the Alleppey Collectorate.
C.P. Radhakrishnan,Ex. M.P., Chairman, Coir Board handed over Rs.5,06,876/- ie one day’s salary collected by its employees, to Dr. T.M. Thomas Issac, Minister for Finance and Coir, Govt. of Kerala as a contribution to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. C.P. Radhakrishnan, Ex. M.P. Chairman contributed his one month’s salary to the Fund.
Chairman also flagged off three trucks containing of coir matting and other materials from the Central Coir Research Institute, Kalavoor today, to be distributed for rehabilitation process. The Board’s employees also collected materials like clothes, medicines and other things and distributed in various relief camps. The entrepreneurs from the coir industry have also made their contributions to the CM’s Relief Fund to support the reconstruction efforts of the State.
