CM Inaugurates Renovation of Sub Health Centre

The ‘Renovation & Upgradation of Sub Health Centre at Paliem Village in Pernem Taluka’ was inaugurated today at the hands of  Laxmikant Parsekar, Chief Minister of Goa, in the distinguished presence of Francis D’souza, Dy. Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chairman – GSIDC& MLA Sankhali Constituency, Sidharth Kuncalienker, Vice Chairman – GSIDC& MLA – Panaji Constituency, Arun Navso Bandhakar, Zilla Panchayat Member, Harmal Constituency, Dayanand L. Parab, Sarpanch Village Panchayat, Paliem and all Panch members, V.P. Paliem.
Under the visionary leadership of Pramod P. Sawant, GSIDC is helping lead the way in building quality infrastructure for the state of Goa. Currently, the coporation is in the process of building roads, bridges, hospitals, colleges, schools, libraries, stadiums, jetties, bus stands, cultural centres and market complexes and is involved in the holistic development of rural and urban spaces.
Adding to this list of works, GSIDC has undertaken the ‘renovation & upgradation of the sub-health centre at Paliem village in Pernem taluka’.As the condition of the sub-health centre was found wanting, the Government made the decision to restore the building and upgrade the facilities to enable better primary medical services to the residents of Paliem village. GSIDC undertook the project which included the provision of basic necessities viz. a
doctor’s consulting room, an examination room, a kitchen and a toilet with a total built up area of 73.00 sq.m. (approx.). The existing Mangalore-tiled roofing was replaced with double layer Galvalume sheets. The doctor’s room was fitted with a false ceiling and necessary furniture. An easily accessible and spacious waiting area has been provided for the patients with seating space at the entrance porch. Provisions for clean drinking water and 24hr power supply have also been made.
The renovated premises could be utilised to provide routine basic health checkups for the Paliem villagers and to conduct immunisation as well as other programs of the Directorate of Health Services.
The consultant on the project was KICONS Limited, Pune and the contractor employed was Kamat Equipment Services.
