Closure of Non Rail Head Reservation Counters with Poor Patronage

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
About 80% of the total reservation is now made through internet and rest through the reservation counters at railway stations. To reach out to remote locations outside Railway stations, Non Rail Head Passenger Reservation  System (NRH PRS) has been started by Railways. Most of such  NRH PRS are having very less patronage.
As per Railway board guideline a review has been conducted on the performance of Non Rail  Head Passenger reservation counters. Those NRH PRS which recorded poor patronage in Thiruvananthapuram division are in Post Offices at  Pulinkunnu in Alappuzha, Vaikom, Munnar, Charumoodu, Santhigiri , Kumali,  Edathua , Koothattukalm  and reservation counter at District Panchayath Office of  Idukki  ,  Block Panchayath Office at Nedumkandam and the one at Thuckalai bustand in Kanyakumari district . As such these 11 centers will be closed down if no improvement in patronaisation is made  after three months from now.
