THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The city based Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA), with the support of Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE), will organise a seminar on ‘Reducing Plastic Footprint in Campuses: The Ways Ahead’ as part of its World Environment Day 2018 celebrations.
The seminar will be organized on June 11, 2018 at the Department of Botany, University College, Palayam. The World Environment Day 2018 is celebrated under the focal theme of Plastic Pollution.
Prof. B. Ramakrishnan, Head of the Dept. of Botany, University College, will deliver the presidential address. The event will be inaugurated by Adv. V. K. Prasanth, Mayor, Municipal Corporation of Thiruvananthapuram.
This will be followed by technical sessions led by Dr. R. Ajayakumar Varma, Technical Advisor to Haritha Keralam Mission, Govt of Kerala; Dr. Achuthsankar S Nair, Head, Dept of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, University of Kerala, and Dr. A. Bijukumar, Dean, Faculty of Science, University of Kerala. The venue will be open for an interactions. Dr.P. Harinarayanan, Senior Scientist and Coordinator Wetland Technical Unit & KSCAT, KSCSTE will offer felicitatations. Dr. K. Murugan, Director (Administration), CISSA; Dr. C.K.
