KOCHI:
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will interact with around 1700 selected students from five universities at the Open Air Auditorium at CUSAT on February 1st as part of the attempts of the government to derive inputs that will enable the government to evolve strategies to take on the challenges confronting the society.
Dr. K.T. Jaleel, Minister for Higher Education will preside over the function. CUSAT Vice Chancellor Dr. K.N. Madhusoodanan and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University Vice Chancellor Dr.Rajasree M.S. will deliver welcome address and vote of thanks respectively. Vice Chancellors Dr. K.C. Sunny (NUALS), Dr.Mohanan Kunnummal(KUHS) and Dr.K. RijiJohn (KUFOS) will attend the programme.
200 students selected from the five universities (CUSAT, APJAKTU, NUALS, KUHS and KUFOS) will participate in the programme directly and around 1500 students will join online. The student selection will be co-ordinated by the nodal officers from each university maintaining 1:1 gender ratio and ensuring students belonging various communities including dalits. The programme also aims to obtain innovative ideas from the youth with proven excellence in various fields including art, literature, culture, science, technology, etc.
Students will have the opportunity to submit their opinions and proposals on various issues in advance. Appreciating the importance of the historic and trend-setting effort of the Chief Minister, CUSAT Vice Chancellor Dr. K.N. Madhusoodanan expressed happiness that CUSAT has been chosen as the platform for the inaugural programme of the series of Chief Minister’s interaction with youth.
