Southern railway state bharat scouts and guides, central district of Chennai division has organized a motor bike rally during the Centenary Year of Rovering associated with Swachch Rail/Swachch Bharat to cover all the six divisions of southern railway by travelling 2000 kilometres and effectively spreading awareness on cleanliness at railway stations and trains.
The rally has been flagged off by R K Kulshrestha, General Manager of Southern Railway on 26th January 2018 from Chennai Central. Propagating the message ‘Clean Habits Make Clean Stations’ across all major stations of Chennai, Salem, Palakkad and Trivandrum divisions the motor bike rally arrived at Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.
The rallying rover scouts performed mime shows at Railway Divisional Office, Thycaud and Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway station to sensitize passengers on the importance of responsibly using dustbins provided and avoid littering during journey.
Prakash Butani, Divisional Railway Manger, Trivandrum Division flagged off the motor bike rally towards Madurai division in the presence of K S Jain, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Trivandrum Division, Siddarth S K Raj, Sr. Divisional Personnel Officer, Thiruvananthapuram Division, branch officers and Staff. The scouts and guides will be performing at Nagercoil Jn and Kanniyakumari Stations before entering Madurai division. The rally will conclude at Chennai on February 3.
