Celebi Aviation, one of the leading global ground handling service provider today announced the completion of one year of its operations at the Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL).
The company, which is contributing to employment generation and skills development with its expanding operations in the country, made its foray into South India through the Cochin International Airport in early 2018. Celebi has won the license to provide its services at the airport for 5+2 years with a planned investment of INR 35 crores. Strengthening its footprint in Southern India, Celebi has also expanded its operations to other regions including Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kannur.
Bringing in global technology and expertise, Celebi ensures to continue to provide state-of- the-art ground handling services to make customer experience at the city airport seamless. The company currently handles flights from Air Asia, Malindo Airlines, Indigo and Jazeera Airways at CIAL. Malaysian Airlines will be joining the Cochin Celebi family in the coming days. Celebi offers safe, efficient and environment friendly provisions to reduce its carbon footprint, along with tight bound security at the airport, which is supported by premium modern technology and equipment.

With a legacy of more than a decade since its inception in India, Çelebi not just takes utmost care of its customers and passengers but its employees as well. Out of the 700 people that the ground handling major employs in Kerala, about 520 are blue-collar jobs. The company has maintained a fair gender ratio and the women constitute close to 22 per cent of the work force in the region. Celebi’s employees enjoy various facilities, including ESIC (Employees State Insurance Corporation), pension, provident fund, Group personal accident coverage and other employee friendly policies. They are offered salaries on par or higher than the central minimum wages. The company recognizes the hard work and thus, aims to provide its workers with the latest equipment, training and safety standards.
The one-year completion at Kochi has strengthened Celebi’s position and has set another milestone for it. The company’s plans of expansion would render employment to more people with an expected increase of staff strength by 20 per cent. Celebi enjoys the unique position of being present across India’s top three airports – Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, and has the capability to service close to 50% of aviation traffic in the country.
