New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will scale down the difficulty level of the Class 12 Maths question paper from next year, according to a circular.
An important change in the pattern is the introduction of short-answer type questions carrying two marks. The number of controversial HOTS questions will be reduced and the maximum marks for this type will be 10. The HOTS questions will be split into two, one carrying 6 marks and the other 4, and students will be given more choices.
20% of the questions will be in the in the ‘easy’ category, while 60% will be categorized as ‘average’ and 20% questions difficult.
The very tough Maths question paper last year had left thousands of students in tears.
