Kadavanthra Indira Gandhi Co-Operative Hospital organised a seminar and Breast cancer awareness programme by flying pink balloons. programme led by Dr VP Gangadharan.
An eight-foot ceiling mirror placed at the entrance of the hospital to raise awareness about breast cancer for all women in the hospital. Former Syndicate Bank employee Anita Bhai was chief guest.she is wife of Narasimha Bhat who survived from cancer,and grand mother of four grand childrens.
Studies show that the rate of breast cancer is increasing among women in Kerala.if not found early life itself in danger. self examination of the breasts at regular intervals and if you notiice any type of tumor or blockage found immediately undergo cheaper and easier tests such as a mammogram said Gangadharan. Hospital Secretary Ajay Tharayil, Director Iqbal valia veetilettil, C.P.R.Babu , Medical Superintendent Dr C K Balan, Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. S Sachidanda Kamath, Dr. G Anupama and Nursing Superintendent AJ Darley led the program.
