NEW DELHI:

The participating students were in for a treat as the matches were graced by the presence of one of Brazil’s finest players and World Cup winner Rivaldo, who motivated the young kids playing at the tournament. Rival
The match started under the watchful eyes of the Brazilian starlet as Father Agnel started the match in the front foot and it only took them only 5 minutes to get on the scoresheet as number 11 Ajeeb scored in the 5th minute of the match. Father Agnel would not rest after taking the lead as they extended their advantage to 2 goals to 0 when Arjun found himself in space inside the penalty box to score for his team in the 11th minute. They would blast past Kothari’s defense just two minutes later as Ashu scored to extand Father Agnel’s lead to 3 – 0. Kothari International tried to get back into the game but could not threaten the Father Agnel defense. Father Agnel went into halftime in a comfortable position and clearly the better side.
In the second half Kothari showed more attacking threat as they tried to find a goal back. They had a great opportunity on the 37th minute mark through a freekick but they could not threaten as the freekick went well wide of the post. Father Agnel themselves had chances to increase their lead but unlike the first half the strikers did not have the composure to finish the opportunities. The match finished with Father Agnel winning the match thanks to their first half exploits as they failed to add to their goal tally in the second half. Rivaldo was certainly impressed with the football on display as he congratulated the winners.

The students were also motivated by the presence of the Brazilian Icon as they had a moment of a lifetime meeting & interacting the world cup winner.
