KOCHI:
Bioxy Medicare, a biomedical company based here, in association with Pune-based Indotech Industrial Solutions Private Limited., has launched VyroGuard, a game-changing device for killing corona virus in closed spaces. The device, designed and developed by Pune-based Indotech Industrial Solutions, is the country’s first ICMR-NIV tested and approved technology for deactivating coronavirus.
The device can be installed in a wide variety of closed places ranging from trains and buses to offices, schools, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, supermarkets and shopping malls, according to Bioxy Medicare. Explaining on its functioning, Sivasanker B., CEO, Bioxy Medicare said, “VyroGuard, which functions on electricity, generates and releases ions into the ambient air. The innovative ionization technology absorbs ambient air and emits bipolar ions that deactivate virus from all the surfaces within a closed environment. The airborne ions disintegrate and deactivate the outer genetic material of microbes and viruses, including the coronavirus. The disabled family of viruses can no longer attach and infect host cells within the human body. Hence, the multiplication of viruses and infectivity can be completely prevented.”
In large closed spaces such as corporate offices, IT parks, factories, multiplex theatres, hospitals, supermarkets and malls, the air normally passes through an HVAC system multiple times in an hour. All the unwanted particles including bacteria and viruses will also be recirculated if not removed properly. “The C-CAC model of VyroGuard does the perfect job of cleaning the air and converting the air into an active disinfectant. The strong germicidal action of bipolar ions kills microbes and markedly improves the indoor air quality. Additionally, it helps in saving energy by 10-15 per cent by eliminating the formation of mildew on the cooling coils of these systems, which increases the efficiency of the centralised air-conditioners and that in turn increases the equipment’s lifespan and reduces maintenance cost,” stated Sivasanker.
Sivasanker claimed that VyroGuard is a highly effective solution in preventing the spread of coronavirus along with WHO recommended safety measures such as sanitization, the use of masks, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
The technology used in VyroGuard was developed after rigorous testing including 90-day clinical trials on Covid Positive patients. Said Sivasanker, adding that this is the only technology tested by the National Institute of Virology, Pune, the designated WHO H5 reference laboratory for the South-East Asia region. VyroGuard is also recommended and approved by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Government of Maharashtra.
“We have received enquiries for ViroGuard from countries such as Germany. In order to cater the export market, we are planning to start manufacturing in Kerala. A prototype has already been made and the company is in the testing stages of it,” added Sivasanker. He also said that the company is aiming to become a world class equipment manufacturer from Kerala.
He further said that the device does not require consumables, human intervention and involve zero operational cost. He also claimed that the device is completely safe and does not emit UV radiation or cause chemical disinfection. Also the device does not cause any odour or side effects.
