After launching ‘Natyaramba’ earlier this year, acclaimed dancer, scholar speaker, writer and guru Ananda Shankar Jayant is now poised to release the digital application overseas, beginning with the USA.

Ananda then travels to California, for the release of ‘Natyarambha’ on the West coast on April 29 , under the aegis of Jayendra Kalakendra
“Natyarambha, produced and created by Shankarananda Kalakshetra, is our offering to the world of Bharatanatyam dancers, that provides digital access across devices, to enable easy practice of Bharatanatyam basics to students across the world. Natyarambha is our endeavour to enable a globally sought after, classical Indian dance form, Bharatanatyam, one of India’s greatest cultural gifts, ride the digital wave,” says Ananda.
The app, available on www.natyarambha.com, contains guided lessons, mnemonics, music, and visuals, replicating the format of a Bharatanatyam class, and a range of practice options to enable practice at home easy.
Launched in January this year by Padma Vibhushan Dr. Sonal Mansingh and Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, the app has seen a huge number of sign ups, says Ananda.

Dr. Ananda Shankar Jayant, is recognised and celebrated as one of India’s eminent and renowned classical dancers, choreographer and dance scholar, brings her four decades of experience, as a performer, choreographer and teacher training young aspirants of Bharatanatyam, at Shankarananda Kalakshetra.
For her contribution to the field of classical art, she was conferred the Padma Shri and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Puraskar for Bharatanatyam.
Ananda is also a sought after evocative speaker on the power of art to overcome life’s challenges, having herself survived breast cancer.
