Dr. K N Madhusoodanan, Vice Chancellor, Cochin University of Science and Technology urged the fresh students of B.Tech courses to keep a positive and creative mind and to keep away from all negativities in the surroundings.
He was delivering the inaugural address at the induction programme of B.Tech courses of the University at CUSAT Science Seminar Complex. “The University is providing all the infrastructure and a campus with full freedom, but this freedom should be balanced with the accompanying responsibility”, the Vice Chancellor said.
“The learning process in CUSAT is not one-way traffic. Just as the University’s motto “Tejaswinavadhitamastu” suggests, it is an illuminating process for both the teacher and the taught”, Dr. Madhusoodanan continued. He exhorted the students to make the learning lively with guestions and interactions not only with teachers, but also with all the seniors and fellow students beyond the barriers of discipline.
The Vice Chancellor also distributed Akhil Memorial Prize for the best innovative project for 2019 to the teams of Timothy Simon, Thomas and Joseph Jojo A (1 st ), Rajath Jayasankar, Suhail Rafeeq, Sahil Athri and Akul Santhosh (2 nd ) and Adhersh B, Malavika Sreekumar, Mohammed Shibili & Vishnu Prasad V S (3 rd ). Dr. Vinodkumar P P, IRAA Director who developed the free software which facilitated the smooth conduct of admission process of the University was also felicitated at the function.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. P G Sankaran presided over the meeting. Dr. K S Beena, Dr. Saju K K, Dr. Sasi Gopalan-all syndicate members, Principal Dr. George Mathew and Dr. V R Renjith, Secretary, PTA spoke. Earlier, Dr. G Madhu, HOD, Safety and Fire Engineering and Chemical Engineering Divisions, presented an over view of the B.Tech courses of CUSAT.
