Autobahn Launches the All-New 16 Tonner Luxury Buses in Kerala

The Glider is built for comfort, Engineered to perfection and Optimized for performance. Glider is available in seater and Glider Z in sleeper.
For the first time in the Bus industry, Autobahn Trucking Corporation is introducing a modern 16t coach – Glider partnering with MG Group on BharatBenz OF–1623 chassis conceived from the global platform of Daimler Bus portfolio. The coach was launched in the presence of Thomas Fricke, CEO Daimler Buses India and MG Group MD Anil M. Kamat.
Speaking on the occasion, M. A. M. Babu Moopan, The Chairman and Managing Director – Nippon Group said “we are trying to bring in a change in the conventional method in Bus Industry with this strong product. The Glider is available off the shelf where our customer can start their operations from day one”.
The Glider is a 235 HP front engine coach powered by Mercedes Benz OM906 platform. This luxury coach is designed to offer safety and comfort for passengers and drivers and more profit for the operators.
The name Glider is derived from the unique Mercedes Benz Glide suspension known for its best ride comfort. The front and rear air suspension calibrated with chassis performance to tide over jerks. Acoustic insulation is optimized for the front mounted engine to reduce cabin noise. Air conditioning with engine driven compressor keeps passenger and driver in lap of comfort.
The 12 meter Glider offers the best in class saloon area, easy seating with ample leg room, plush interiors, wider windows for panoramic view and technologically advanced engineering for comfort during long journeys. The cockpit is designed in such a way that the professional drivers appreciate and ergonomically optimized work place that makes their work easier and enable them to concentrate on their drive.
