New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Mody dropped five ministers from his council on Tuesday and expanded it by inducting 19 new faces.
The nature of the expansion and the profile of the new faces show that Narendra Modi has done this exercise with an eye on the upcoming elections in the state of Uttar Pradesh and to implement the party’s agenda of bringing Dalits and backwards closer. Several of the new faces belong to the dalit and OBC categories.
New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi and a crusader against corruption, suffered a setback when the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested his principal secretary Rajendra Kumar for corruption. Four others were also arrested in the graft case involving Rs 50 crore.
New Delhi: CPM leader V S Achuthanandan has suffered two setbacks in the Supreme Court.The Supreme Court dismissed the petition filed by Achuthanadan seeking CBI probe into the Kozhikode Ice Cream Parlour Case.
The court observed that it does not have the time to take up the case which Achuthanandan has filed for political vengeance.
