Ashok Leyland Limited, flagship of the Hinduja Group, achieved the rank of global No.3 in the MHCV bus makers list for the calendar year 2019, based on reports released by SIAM, OICA (Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles), and IHS Markit.
Ashok Leyland have been pioneers in the MHCV bus market and have introduced several path-breaking innovations in the industry. Ashok Leyland has been the first to introduce power steering, air brakes, rear engine bus, India’s first double decker, and many more.
The buses made by Ashok Leyland have always delivered on the brand promise of ‘Aapki Jeet. Hamari Jeet.’ The range includes a slew of innovative products which include the JanBus – world’s first single step entry, front engine, fully flat floor bus; India’s first hybrid CNG plug-in bus, Sunshine – a pathbreaking, frontal crash protected, rollover compliant, aesthetically designed bus for school children, and the Circuit – India’s first Electric bus.

The total number of buses sold by Ashok Leyland in CY 2019 stood at 23,100.
