THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
India Skills Kerala 2018, being jointly organised by Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE) and Industrial Training Department has elicited tremendous response with the applications touching 5,000 so far.
Over 8,000 applications are expected for the competitions to be held across the state as part of the government’s plans to promote skill development among the youth, which is four times higher than previous year.

Phone numbers- 0471-2735949, 8547878783, 9633061773. Participants should be an Indian citizen, who is below 21 years old on January 1, 2018 (born on or after January 1, 1997).
Competitions will be held in district, regional and State levels. District-level competitions will be held from April 2 to 4, regional competitions will be held in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode districts from April 11 to 14 and the State-level competitions are scheduled to be held at Marine Drive, Kochi on April 28 and 30.
Ten contestants from each skilled area will be selected from district-level for regional level competitions. Two contestants each from regional level competitions can go to the State-level. First winner can get Rs 1 lakh and the second winner will get Rs 50,000.
