THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
ANSYS in association with Digilog Technologies recently inaugurated the Centre for Advanced Simulation for Space Application (CASSA). CASSA is set to fast-track simulation knowledge and skills through training, seminars, webinars, demonstration and discussion of advanced simulation technologies from ANSYS. S Somanath, director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre graced the occasion and inaugurated the centre.
CASSA will support trainings on space related application of ANSYS simulation programs and will offer a central location to ANSYS software users in and around Thiruvananthapuram to attend either in person or web-based trainings conducted by ANSYS. As a part of the program, free training will be provided that will keep users informed on the latest applications of ANSYS simulation technology.
S Somanath, director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, said, “Simulation is critical to meeting the high reliability, tight timeline and cost targets for space projects. ANSYS’ CASSA will further help in accelerating our space program by fast-tracking simulation skills development and also supporting and understanding new simulation capabilities. I am delighted to be at the inauguration of CASSA, which will contribute to the space engineering ecosystem in and around Thiruvananthapuram by enhancing simulation knowledge and skill development of scientists, engineers and academic institutes.”
Speaking at the inauguration, Rafiq Somani, area vice president – India and South Asia Pacific, ANSYS, said, “We, at ANSYS, are committed to ensure that the Indian Space establishments are future ready and CASSA is a step towards this direction. The ANSYS simulation platform enables the comprehensive simulation of critical space systems in one seamless simulation toolset. The operation of CASSA will be in accord with space technology establishments in the vicinity of Thiruvananthapuram and will enable the scientists to best adopt ANSYS simulation technology.”
CASSA is equipped with well-maintained infrastructure be it premises, computing equipment, and more. The latest ANSYS tools are available at CASSA for training and there will be basic, advanced and customized training sessions for ANSYS users here.
