As Kerala is now faced with the huge task of rebuilding the State, it is our duty as a responsible corporate citizen to assist the state machinery during these trying times. This is indeed a very critical time and we want to contribute in our best of efforts to help salvage the situation on ground. This donation to the Chief Ministers Relief Fund is an effort towards this goal. Earlier during the floods situation, as a speedy measure, we deployed ‘Emergency Mobile charging stations’ to help people stay in touch with their close ones. We ran a free service battery campaign for customers of our battery brands Amaron and PowerZone whose vehicle batteries were affected during the floods. Help was extended to our Channel partners and retailers in retrieving and revival of damaged stocks, to ensure that the business for them was not impacted severely. Around 150 telecom towers spread over 6 worst affected districts of Kerala were attended to by our teams on war footing basis. Flood waters were flushed out from telecom sites and electrical power supply to network through batteries was ensured. Restoration of this critical link enabled seamless communication connectivity to the distressed people. Batteries which form critical part of Signalling and telecommunication network of Cochin Metro were quickly restored to ensure smooth functioning of rail network. Beyond all this, we abundantly acknowledge the resilience of the people of Kerala in facing the crisis and the resolve they demonstrated in getting back Kerala to normalcy”
Further Jaikrishna. B, President (Group HR & New Business Development) supplemented: ‘Responsibility is one of our five core values and part of our “The Amara Raja Way” TM . We deeply appreciate the Employee volunteerism efforts, wherein a cross section of our employees came forward, have personally packed around 1500 rehabilitation kits comprising of various household needs and distributed them to Kuttanad village, Alleppey. Amara Raja Group and its employees have always come forward to extend support when such calamities happen anywhere in the Country”
