CHENNAI:
Versatile Actress and comedian ‘Kovai’ Sarala, who has appeared in more than 750 movies in more than five languages has decided to take a plunge in politics and joined Makkal Needhi Maiam party today.
‘Kovai’ Sarala participated in the Women’s Day celebration of Makkal Needhi Maiam party at the party Chennai Head Quarters. While speaking to the women there, she commented on the increasing number of women members and party functionaries, she said, “Makkal Needhi Maiam party might soon become ‘Magalir’ Needhi Maiam.
I’m also very confident that MNM will grant women the justice that they receive, that is why I joined MNM. Not just me, many women who believe in MNM will follow our leader Kamal Haasan. Women of Thamizh Nadu are repressed, this must be changed. We must ensure that the men in our homes vote for a party that will work for the development of women (MNM). I heard a lot of criticism on actors who enter politics, actors who play different roles are able to empathise the plight of the common man. They are the ones who will be able to eradicate the problems of the common man. That is why I have an emotional connect with this party.”
MNM party’s Women’s Day Celebrations happened in the presence of Party President Kamal Haasan, Coordinator of the Women and Children welfare wing Sripriya and Chennai Zonal In-charge Kameela Nasser.
